A Step Toward Education, Dignity, and Hope for Zambia’s Children

World Vision Zambia has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Village Steps Foundation to strengthen access to education, dignity, and wellbeing for vulnerable children across the country through the Shoes for Smiles – Walk This Way Campaign.

Through this partnership, 10,000 pairs of shoes will be provided to children in World Vision programme areas and other identified communities, helping remove a simple but powerful barrier to school attendance. For many children, a pair of shoes means confidence, protection, and the ability to walk to school with dignity.

This impact is made possible through the strength of collaboration:

Village Steps Foundation – Leading the Shoes for Smiles campaign with a clear focus on child dignity, education, and community empowerment.
World Vision Zambia – Providing programmatic reach, child-focused expertise, and community structures to ensure the shoes reach those who need them most.
Zambeef and its subsidiary ZAMSHU – Demonstrating strong corporate responsibility by investing in practical solutions that directly support children’s education and wellbeing and support to purchase school shoes .
ZANACO – Standing with children and communities through meaningful support that advances inclusive development and purchase of school shoes.
Radio Christian Voice – Amplifying the campaign’s message of hope, compassion, and action, ensuring stories of impact reach households across Zambia and resource mobilization through publicity

This partnership goes beyond the signing of an agreement. It reflects a shared belief that every child deserves dignity, protection, and an equal chance to learn.
